Best Ford Platform
« on: March 23, 2007, 03:27:32 AM »
I've been thinking about selling my buggy and building a prerunner. What would be the best Ford platform? Ranger?

Rangers or F-150's are nice. Both are popular and easy to find parts for.

rangers are better imo, cheaper and lighter, and you can always put f150 parts on as an upgrade!

is it gonna be a strictly desert truck.?  or still daily driver

i would go with whatever one you come across. both awesome vehicles to cut up. the plus of the f150 is more room and a stock v8

i'd go with an f150 just because its a little wider and longer and like skunx said, comes stock with a v8, some nice suspension and weight reduction and you have a nice ride

This has been a debate for a long time.  Its as bad as the I-beam vs A-Arm debate.  Really it all depends on what your budget can handle.  You can build both trucks into capable vehicles and both are race and chase proven.  Mostly everything you buy for the full size trucks is a little bit more expensive, fab work is also a little more expensive because its a little wider and a little longer.

f150s are cooler than rangers but I prefer a silverado or tundra over an f150 anyday

F-150's are Better then rangers ? Hardly

F-150's are Heavier, More expensive to modify, and to be honest i think fullsize's handle like Caca... Rangers are small and nimble

Put me up against any fullsize the same caliber same hp etc and ill eat it for breakfast... Lunch AND Dinner

well, i would have to side with the ranger even though im new, because i have seen f-150s and rangers(and i own one) and i prefer them because of there size and handling capability, and the have low center of gravity
