Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championship - Parry Sound wrap up
14 September 2010, 11:35 am

  From World Enduro Canada

Rounds 5 & 6 of the Royal Distributing Canadian Enduro Championship presented by Parts Canada are in the books.  Matt and the gang from put together a tough and challenging course - something that deserved to be called a National round.  The entire weekend was presented by Honda - and their top rider Jason Schrage did not disappoint. There was 29 Pro riders with 15 of them coming from Alberta, BC and Quebec who put on a great show.

Yamaha/Machine Racing's Brian Wojnarowski was the first rider to put a dent in Honda's Jason Schrage undefeated streak by topping him on Day 1 in the E2 class.  Jason figured out the terrain and came back on Day 2 to get his 5th win and 5th overall fastest award for the season.  Day 1 also saw Feeding Performance/Husqvarna rider Guy Giroux get his first win for the season in E3 and taking the fastest overall Pro honours for the day.  He won E3 again on Day 2 but lost the overall for the weekend to Jason.

Suzuki's Chris Van Hove was the man to beat in E1 as he battled all weekend with Jared Thomas from Alberta and Phillipe Chaine out of Quebec - a true National Podium.  Vet Pro was won by Clint Riviere from Pincher Creek, AB on day 1 and Jean Pellerin from Quebec taking Day 2 with Ontario's Paul Andratis in the mix to keep them both honest.

The amateur classes saw Tyler Murray winning A class both days, Jed Franko taking both days in B class and the C class saw Alberta boys Dan Scott and Ty Mckenna swapping first and second both days.  KTM/Apex Cycle rider Rob Martin from Plattsville, ON won Vet class both days and Super Vet had Machine Racing's John Nelson and Jean Marie Breault from New Brunswick swapping first and second place over the two days.

World Enduro Canada wants to thank all our Media partners who came out to support the event.  Ryan Gauld from MXP came to ride the event and after posting the fastest time in the first test his bike threw a chain and broke the engine case putting him out - he did come away with a very positive view of the Enduro world - check out his blog and photo essay. Jeff Morgan from Inside MotoX and Off Road also came to ride the event and finished a respectable 8th & 6th in B class. Dan Paris from, Suzanne Howie from Inside Motorcycles were there as well as Bill Petro who was putting together material for Cycle Canada and The Toronto Star.  In addition Global Television sent a crew on Saturday for the evening news.

The final two rounds will be held this weekend in Labelle, QC where we will be crowing the Eastern Canadian Enduro Championship in all 6 amateur classes - sponsored by Inside MotoX and Off Road Magazine-  as well as the National Pro Championships in all 4 Pro Classes.  The Overall number one Pro for the season will be handed the keys to his new Kymco scooter courtesy of Kymco Canada.  There will be a season ending after party in Mt Tremblant on Sunday evening - hope to see you all there!
