95 F-150 / RWD / 5spd manual / 6 cyl
« on: July 29, 2009, 04:40:38 PM »
Might have found a nice Ford pickup.  I think it's an XLT...whatever that means.  It's 2 wheel drive, which is good.  I don't want a 4wd truck.  And the garage I work at deals mainly in ford super duty trucks....they have hundreds of them!  So spare parts would be plentiful I'm sure.  They just got it in on a trade in for one of their vehicles.  It's not the prettiest looking truck....the sides of the bed are pretty banged up...but I would hope to replace them with fiberglass eventually....so actually, the uglier it is, the better off I am because I'll be able to get it cheaper.

The boss has been using it since they got it just a couple days ago...so I have to find out from him if he's even going to sell it.  If it looks promising, I'll grab some pics one of these days.

lolz...it isn't really a beast.  it's pretty ugly in it's current state, but it may have quite an interesting future if i get a hold of it.   =)

my fav part about it, is that for how twisted up it is...its not rusty AT ALL.  hah....its even missing the usual rust above the rear wheels.  it's solid!  and i can't get pics for you yet....cuz the boss has it somewhere.  i have no idea where it is, lol.   i'll try and grab some if it makes an appearance at the shop tomorrow.

Now we're talkin! But only if the price is right, it's always easier, and much cheaper to buy a v8 than to transplan a v8. But if the cash is there, and its got a v6 but everything else you want, go for it.

Should be getting this truck soon!   Boss is tired of it just sitting around at his house I guess.    I told him I want it, and he said he'd sell it to me for a cool grand.   That's a pretty good deal I think.  Also....it's a straight 6, not a V6.  I'm hoping  it's around 300 CI.  Should pull pretty good.   I'll keep you updated and try to snag some pics.

Yeah.  I've been dying to get my hands on an I-beam Ford for SO long!   He said he'll even let me finance the thousand bux at the dealership, so I will just pay all the state fees and stuff next week or something.  I should have it in 2 weeks I think.   mmmm  Twin I-beams.....   Gonna be pimp!

haha field of dreams is right!   the new truck will need a name though......

another cool thing about the ford, is that my sweet rims that i have on the Tracker will fit beautifully on the ford, and i have a bunch of exhaust pieces ready to be welded together for it too.  got a Purple Hornies  glasspack and about 4 feet of pipe, lol.

bought my sweet Ford Twin I beam F150.   its totally awesome.    still no internets in my apartment...so no pics for joo.   its in good shape.  only cost a cool thou for the truck.  it needed some u joints BAD....but i got that taken care of already and it drives great!  only has 114k miles.   and the 6 cyl engine i thought would be small and wimpy, is a HUGE 4.9 liter 300 CI engine.  it has lots of torque and isnt terrible with fuel.

it needs a few odds and ends....and theres a lil oil leak, but otherwise a great truck.     i'll have pics soon....promise.
