Best all around platform

What's your favorite platform to build a desert truck out of? I personally like Tacomas and older Toyota pickups. What about you guys?

i think the best platform is the good ole mid 90s ranger, but my favorite is the newer chevys.  BAD ASS

lol, well i dunno if a jeep qualifies as a good platform for a good "desert truck" but they make great trail rigs and crawlers

d00d my cousin tom had a 4wd single cab hardbody and that thing went EVERYWHERE!
he even pulled out a 4wd extracab f150 once, it was rad.

the main problem with those is the weight issue.  more weight means more stress on the frame and suspension and the parts wear out a lot sooner.  the problem with the bronco is like most SUVs, it's real top heavy.  it also has a short wheelbase so it bucks a lot
