I still have this stupid truck.  =P    Tried to sell it.  Had it on ebay for a month.  No dice.  Gonna get it inspected and drive it on it's door handles for the winter I guess, then see what happens in the spring.

Welcome to the site.  Sorry there isn't a lot of traffic through here right now.  I don't know much about s-10's.  Why don't you have a look in our "links" section and see if you can find what you need there.

I'd look for something with A-arms that already has coils/shocks.  I don't like torsion bar suspension.  I have a 95 F-150.  It has twin I-beams.  Real easy to modify.

Tires!     ;D

Also have new seats that are now waiting to be installed.

It's coming along nicely.

That's intense!  Congrats on the solid work and good progress!  Looks tight!

Oh man!  I wanna race too!    so sad I live on the east coast, and I'm broke......bah.

Maybe when I'm finished building my truck in like 3 years, I'll drive it across the country and enter one of these awesome invitationals.

What kind of rules are there for trucks?  Do I need a fuel cell?  5 point harness?

You have a spec sheet for class rules?

Look!   Fixed the alignment....and remounted the radius arms.  Looks proper now, and rides smooth.  Woot!  I can finally work on other shit now...whew.

Check out my sweet radius arm that I built myself, using a badly taco'd Superlift extended arm.  Part of my cheap junkyard find.

UPDATE!  Actually got some work done on it!   :o

Pretty happy overall so far....but I have to move the radius arms forward.  Look how the front wheels are sitting back in the wheel well.  Hmm....Looks good though I think.  Still have so much to do.  Ugh....

Ah...well if by battle, you mean the fire, and the blown tire....sorry...don't have any pics.   But I do have a couple I can show you.

Very...VERY bad alignment.....

Yo duders.   Spent 12 hours today working on my truck.   Replaced some of the hard brake lines, and replaced all the hoses with extended stainless steel hoses.   Stuffed some lift blocks under the leafs.  That turned out alright.  But it took me forever to get it lined up properly to set up the I put a transmission jack under the diff and unbolted the driveshaft.  That made it much easier.

The front was super annoying and terribly difficult.  The physical strain is intense.  All the bolts are about 1 1/8" in diameter.  It's crazy.   And I didn't have time to fix my taco'd radius arm....or mount the beam drop brackets.   So I just unbolted everything and installed the lift coils, pitman arm,  and shocks in the front.  I knew the caster and the camber would be WAY out....but I assumed it'd be ok to dick around until next weekend and I could finish it.   Well....I bolted everything together, and put the wheels on.   The camber is WAYYYY off....and the truck is nearly un-driveable.  Sooo....I packed up, and drove a summit car home.  I'll put the beam drop brackets on sometime during the week, after work.  And I guess I ought to try to fix that radius arm.

How long do you think I can run factory radius arms with 6" of lift?

No progress pics as I was in a furious rampaging rush to get it done.   But before/after pics soon.

With money an issue.  I usually research which company uses the best materials, and offers the most rebuildable equipment, THEN try and find it used.   You'll get a better deal, and still end up with quality stuff.

Awesome!  Can I haz?

I'm so bored with not having any money..../yawn.    At least I finally got some extended brake lines...and short of having a pair of straight radius arms....I have the whole 6" lift kit ready to install.   But I'm dragging my feet, because I don't have a set of tires bigger than 30", and that's going to look quite silly.

I really wish I had a supply of tubing and steel plate.....I could make some new coil buckets and shock towers, and move some geometry around, so I can run my 30" tires AND the big coils/shocks without it looking stupid.

Epic!  Great stuff Artec.
